Request to remove premier date has been declined, where do I go from here?
#260219-000717-268000 - denied
A test screening at a film fest was erroneously entered as the premier date. The screening wasn't ticketed and the feedback was used for a significant re-edit. We didn't appear on the fest's program and the programmer has written a letter stating we weren't part of the fest. We've asked twice for removal and been declined. The director is afraid this will hurt chances with a new festival premier and distribution. Do we have any other options to prove this was not a premier? Thanks everyone!
per IMDB's rules "On occasion titles are shown to non-public focus groups to assess audience reaction before making final edits. As such, these should not be considered as release dates." this film was shown privately to filmmakers during this festival invite-only for feedback but erroneously listed in this IMDB entry as a release date. The film was not part of festival programming and we can provide the program and a letter from festival programmers stating this. The film was re-edited using this feedback, with an anticipated release in 2026, therefore we'd like to remove the incorrect release date of 5/23/25.
