Repeated refusal to fix character names

I do not understand why it is so difficult for IMDb to follow even their most basic of guidelines.

The very first guideline regarding Character Names says (in bold text no less!)  Wherever possible, we list character names as they appear in the on-screen credits.

But there are countless thousands of incorrect character names that they repeatedly refuse to correct. Why?

Can an IMDb employee please explain why this is so difficult and, more specifically, why you refuse to correct the character name changes I attempted to make to the 1983 film "Christine"?  Thanks!

I apologize for the fuzziness of the image but you can still see that they do not match the "verified" character names in your database.

I can answer your question.

It's either because:

1 - The website you're uploading the screenshots to is not completely public.

2 - The characters you're trying to correct are played by big names in the industry, who have clearly had some type of IMDB restriction put on their profile, to stop people messing with their credits. It doesn't happen very often though in my experience.

3 - The admins aren't looking at the proof.

If you're not already using Imgur: The magic of the Internet then use IMGUR, and your corrections will rarely be declined.

I've submitted the 8 character corrections, using the above link again here 210927-002719-582000

@daniel_francis_gardecki

Thank you so much, Daniel, both for the advice and for submitting the correct credits.  That was very kind of you to take the time to do that!
