Remove scam film festivals

Why are monthly film festivals permitted on IMDb? They're basically scam events which take a lot of money from naive filmmakers each month and nominate and give awards to a most (or all) of these filmmakers, hoping they will share their wins on social media so they can more money from more filmmakers. Having a website, existing for a couple of years, or winners and nominations being verifiable shouldn't be enough. IMDb should be more like Wikipedia, where only relevant events are allowed. I'm sure none of these festivals get credible coverage from news sources each month, which should probably be the most important factor in deciding if a festival is worthy of being on IMDb or not. In fact, these awards paradoxically do more harm than good, as once you take a look at them, you can easily conclude that they're worthless trophies that don't add anything of value besides projecting a false sense of success. All of this takes credibility away from up-and-coming filmmakers, the awards themselves as "IMDb badges", and the IMDb website itself. For the good of the database, I urge you to clean up the awards section and allow ONLY festivals that have REGULAR news coverage.
