Removal of credit

Hey guys, I have never directed anything but on my page it states that I have directed a short film called Benny. There is no evidence of this and no contract which I have signed so this seems like it was illegally submitted. Sharath Ravishankar was the lone director of this film. Thank you so much!

Well, the on-screen credits contradict your statement so, at most, you could argue for a (credit only) attribute.

I've submitted contribution #251231-054301-748000 to correct the cast list (order numbers and some character name) and complete the missing crew.

Hey! Peter went ahead and added my name as a director which I was unaware of unfortunately and this is the first time I have seen this credit. How do I remove or make a credit only as you suggested?

Well, that's up to the editors at IMDb, depending on what evidence you can provide to show that you really didn't participate as director in the short film, and the information has been available on the web for more than eight years without anyone disputing it, so I don't know if that will be easy.
