Release date edit declined despite verification provided

Dear all - I am attempting to remove a release date for the film Stalker (1979). Currently, the film has a Canadian DVD release date listed as 1 January 1979. This is very clearly wrong, for the simple reason that DVDs were not invented until 1995 (and did not go on general sale until 1996). As I think most of us will recognise, the "1 January" part looks like this date was simply added as a placeholder based on the film's 1979 release year, and has nothing to do with the actual Canadian DVD release date.

However, my submission to remove the date has twice been declined. I am aware that I need to provide full verification myself, but I honestly don't know how much more clearly I can put it than "DVDs weren't invented yet". Surely in this case it is unnecessary to give specific evidence that there was no Canadan DVD of this movie in 1979. It's logically impossible - how much more needs to be said?!

This DVD release date is incorrect for two reasons:

- DVDs did not yet exist in 1979, so it is obvious that a 1979 DVD premiere date must be an error. Currently the release dates show the film coming out on DVD before it was first screened in Moscow in May 1979, even though DVDs were not invented until 1995. - The first DVD release of Stalker seems to have been in 2002 (listed separately on the IMDb page, and still available from retailers - see link below).
