Rejection of Accurate Genres Continues #2 Why?
Why does this title NOT have Music as a genre? The main murder victim is an aspiring singer, there is another aspiring singer, a recording studio is a major setting, a recording session is a major scene, a music producer (played by Ashton Kutcher) is a major character, AND it has a concert! Have you seen this film? I have.

As per our definition of the music genre "Contains significant music-related elements while not actually being a Musical; this may mean a concert, or a story about a band (either fictional or documentary)." I do hear you about the professions of some main characters, but I wouldn't consider that enough since music is not the main plot here, as the possible crime committed to the main character is. It doesn't sound like something that would fit in the genre as our Examples: A Star Is Born (2018) |Almost Famous (2000) | Sunshine Daydream (2013) do.
But again our own guidelines say it's subjective. So I am opening to hear why you think it fits in the genre.

To echo @Bethanny's points, if we start opening the Music genre to all titles that happen to include musicians as characters who are not even the protagonists, then that could change the meaning of the Music genre.
Would all films with a criminal character become Crime movies, all films with an athlete character become Sport movies, etc.?
