Regarding your policy for title images.

Hello.

The following text is a somewhat different version of a reply I made to the New Feature - Free Title Images announcement. My original message can be found here: https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/new-feature-free-title-images?topic-reply-list%5Bsettings%5D...

The reason I'm posting this is simply because my original post hasn't received much of a response (two likes in as many months, and no comment). This may, of course, be due to the fact that most people on this board disagree with (or are indifferent to) what i had to say.

However, I suspect the lack of a response might, at least in part, be due to the fact that relatively few people have read it in the first place, since said message is located in an area of the boards that might get relatively little traffic (though I could be wrong, of course).

Anyhoo...

What I wanted to get across in my initial reply to the aforementioned announcement was that I think IMDb's policy regarding title images (posters/covers) is in need of some serious changes.

I am of the opinion that it shouldn't matter in the least if a movie poster contains nudity or extreme gore, as long as it is an official poster/cover for the film in question.

I especially find your (IMDb's) rules concerning title images for films in the adult genre to be both silly and perplexing, not to mention discriminatory, since you won't allow images of any kind, whether they contain nudity or not, to be submitted.

I know there are plenty of people who don't wish to see such images. So to solve that issue i'd suggest a need to be logged in, as well as changing one's personal settings, to be able to view such content. This way, the only people accessing these images are those who actually wish to do so.

After all, one already has to do so in order for adult titles and names to be searchable in the first place.
