Receiving actress credit that doesn't belong to me - unable to remove?

There is an actress credit appearing in my IMDb profile that does not belong to me. I have tried to delete it several times and the change get's rejected. "Guan yu Tang yi sheng de yi qie" (2022) is the series that is appearing on my profile that is not me.  The evidence I've submitted is a link to who I believe is the correct actress in China (same name). A quick google search will show that this is not me.  How can I get this removed?  What evidence do I need to submit?

Tassie: Please see the pages of Zhang Xin (I) at https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3326181/ and Zhang Xin (IV) at https://www.imdb.com/name/nm11802872/. It looks like both of you have been listed with executive producer credits on the same titles: In Restless Dreams: The Music of Paul Simon, Ezra, and The Monk and the Gun. This appears to be another error. We need to figure out which person these jobs should be assigned to.

Can you please go through both of those pages and tell us:

  • Are you the person in the picture at https://www.imdb.com/name/nm11802872/ (that is, https://www.imdb.com/name/nm11802872/mediaviewer/rm3482592513/)?
  • Are you the person who founded Closer Media as indicated in the biography at Zhang Xin (IV)'s page? (From your username, I am guessing that you are.)
  • Which credits on the Zhang Xin (I) page are yours and which belong to the other person? Please check all of those credits.
  • Which credits on the Zhang Xin (IV) page are yours and which belong to the other person? Please check all of those credits.

This will make it easier for us to figure out who should get what credits, and which page the role of Lin Mei Yu on "Guan yu Tang yi sheng de yi qie" (2022) should be assigned to.

Thanks so much for your response.  Yes, Zhang Xin (I) at https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3326181/ and Zhang Xin (IV) belong to me. My office has been trying to get this corrected but seems we are at a stand still - we don't want to merge both profiles until the incorrect credits are removed. The biography and the picture are correct.  

The following credits are incorrect:

Once the incorrect items are removed, we will merge into one complete and accurate profile.

Please note that there are several other people named Zhang Xin listed in IMDb:

Are you able to figure out whether the role of Lin Mei Yu on "Dr. Tang", or the executive producer job on "State of Emergency - Big Story", was done by any of those other people named "Zhang Xin" listed in IMDb?

If you can't figure out which of those other people listed did those jobs, or if the persons who did those jobs don't have IMDb pages yet, it will still be possible to solve your problem. But, in any case, you should correct those credits and assign them to a Zhang Xin with a different roman numeral, not delete the credits altogether. Presumably somebody named Zhang Xin did the work on those shows, even if it wasn't you.

Thanks for your help- unfortunately, it does not appear that any of the other profiles of the same name match the actress that appears in the credits.  I do not have any information on the additional Zhang Xin profiles other than Zhang Xin (I) and Zhang Xin (IV) , who are the same person and need to be merged.  Can i proceed with merging them, or do the incorrect credits need to be removed first? Any guidance on how to delete the incorrect credits would be very helpful as I am at a standstill.

Tassie: I can only give you the general outline right now, but I can write up the full step-by-step instructions later. Or, hopefully, another helpful contributor here will provide the full explanation.


But here is the general idea of what you need to do.

  1. Correct the executive producer credit for "State of Emergency - Big Story" to assign it to another Zhang Xin with a new roman numeral that is not currently in use.
  2. Correct the actress credits for the "Dr. Tang" series to assign them to yet another Zhang Xin with the next roman numeral not currently in use -- that is, one higher than the one you assigned to the producer from "State of Emergency".
  3. Wait for those credits to be moved off the Zhang Xi (I) and (IV) pages, which may take a few days.
  4. After all the credits and information on both the Zhang Xin (I) and (IV) pages refer to you and nobody else, then submit a merge to merge Zhang Xin (IV) to Zhang Xin (I).
