IMDb has split off sections as much to help their processing as to match the business.
Because submissions for different sections follow different flows and wait in different queues, adding a new section is not just a matter of changing the display pages, but of creating a new flow. It also requires that somebody be assigned to process the section.
There are plans to split off some more sections in the future (and I seem to recall that Production and Locations are both candidates), but it will likely be a while. IMDb has been moving its processing to a new system, and I expect that no major changes will be made to the system until this move is complete and the new version is working well.

In short, don't expect this any time soon.
