Production Crew - that deserve their own Catagory - it is about time!
I am writing on behalf of the Department of the Film Industry that everyone forgets.
They are the backbone of every production and, as most of these crew members are not seen, they are forgotten. Where does the call sheet come from that gets into your inbox for your next filming day? Where does the arranging of catering and craft service come from, so that you can eat? How do you think your Directors, DP's, Producers and Cast travel - do you think they book their own flights and arrange their own hotels? Who is having to deal with making the stages and spaces safe from Covid-19 and whose job just became 10 times harder by having to do so? They are the first to begin a Production and the last ones to leave making sure there is no mess left behind.
Transportation has their own headline - not taking away from what they do - but if they have a dedicated section, why not these hard working team of crew members? On IMDb these people are still categorized as simply "Miscellaneous Crew".
A miscellaneous crew member is like an animal wrangler who has brought in their trained German Shepherd to be a police dog for one episode!
Come on IMDB - It is about time you give the whole Production Management Department their own Section.
UPM's, Production Supervisors, Production Coordinators, Assistant Production Coordinators, Production Secretaries and Office PA's. These are the guys that usually go on to be Producers. So can you please start to give them the respect they deserve. They are not miscellaneous. They are Essential.
