Producer credit declined on Rick & Morty (this will be an ongoing problem)

But he died before filming and I would assumed a "produced by" credit would be an active part of the filming process because there is another person also credited with "produced by". 

@adrian He may have died before animation or voice recording but the fifth season was being written when he died and largely finished according to interviews with Dan Harmon at the time. He could have still been an active part of that process. That there are multiple producer credits on this season doesn't mean much; there's always been multiple producer credits on Rick and Morty.

This isn't a Sam Simon/Simpsons situation. When Simon died in 2015 he hadn't worked at the Simpsons for over 20 years. His exit deal allowed him to keep his executive producer credit on the show. No such deal seems to be in place for Mendel, unless further information comes out about it.
