Problem with formatting on merge change

So I tried merging a "movie" page and onto an episode for a TV show because said "movie" is an episode of the show. My submission got declined due to it apparently being formatted badly, what went wrong here and how can I fix it?Reference number: 251116-012946-313000

Hi TheKingOfFrogs-

Thank you for posting the submission reference number! Further reviewing the reason why it was declined as such is because, we cannot merge a TV Series onto an episode specifically when the TV series has (in this case) an episode already live.

We have helped on fixing this as it is a particular case since the TV parent page is meant to be the episode. The changes are still in-progress but will be live on the site once the process is completed.

For further references and as per our guidelines, when it comes to title merges for TV series:

3. Unfortunately two series pages cannot be merged if episodes exist on both titles. If you wish to merge two series pages please submit a title merge on any associated episodes first, then, once these have been approved, please submit a merge on the parent series titles.

I noticed there are two other pages like this that might need to be merged, but now that I know how difficult it is, I do not know if it's worth it.

If that is the case, should I just request to delete the pages if I can't merge them? Also noticed how the merge essentially created a new episode listing. Should I just delete that too and manually add the information onto the episode page?

@TheKingOfFrogs- No problem! The data might have some little differences which is why it might not have detected duplicate information when merging but this can be corrected.

As per the titles above, those have been merged as well and they are still in-progress.
