Problem when editing/correcting trivia entry. Link in parenthesis.

I was editing a trivia entry where the listed link for an individual was to a porn star with a similar name.  Darryl Hanah vs. Darryl Hannah.  After making the correction and trying to submit it, it came back with an error mentioning something about an old method of creating links was no longer used and referenced the "how to" page for creating links.  The issue was, everything was done in accordance with the instructions listed.

It turns out that there were two references (that I didn't change) that were inside parenthesis, eg:

([link=nm#######])

I had to change the text of those links by adding a " " (space) between the parentheses for it to accept the change.  Like this:

( [link=nm#######] )

I'm thinking there might be an issue with the site coding that throws an error when it sees something like:

([link=nm#######])

I'm new to adding additions to the IMDb but have used the site for a very long time.  It seems to be a common practice to make entries like:

Character Name (Actor Name)

I'm not sure if this has been encountered before.
