Pre-Production Distributor Year

How should the year for the distributor be handled for movies that are in pre-production and have no release date - and therefor no distribution years?

One example is Justice League Part Two (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4121026/reference/) which has Warner Bros. (2019) (United States) listed as distributor.

Clearly the 2019 is incorrect information.

As the year is a compulsory how should it be handled?

  • delete the whole distributor until a release year is confirmed - thereby losing the Warner Bros (which I assume is correct current plan - but with mergers etc who knows by the time it comes out - if it does).
  • changed to current or a "best guess" future year?
  • left as it is?

Hi @lopek,

Thank you for your problem report.

For this example, we have manually amended the year within the distributor information as we are yet to have absolute confirmation on the outcome of this title's development. In any other case for titles such as these that are in a "Development Unknown" production status, we recommend the distributor information be removed via contribution in place of outdated, incorrect or estimated information.

I hope this helps!

I don’t think that movie is happening anymore. I guess they rebooted the whole thing.

@eboy Sure, but it is not a unique case, just an example that I came across. The question remains.
