Greetings,

I was wondering if someone within the IMDB can elaborate why my submission (#241019-120552-925000) was declined?

thanks

Hi @assmn108 -

The name page was not linked as indicated in our help guides.

Cheers!

thanks for your help but I was under the impression that it doesn't need to be linked? My trademarks of "frequently works with...." for Matt Damon and Jennifer Aniston were approved without issues? Can you clarity further?

thanks

@assmn108 Hi!
We would actually prefer for it to be, in any case as you mentioned it is not mandatory so I have resubmitted on your behalf and approved.

Cheers!

hi @Bethanny

this reminds me of a question I've had for a while, to link a page for George Clooney for example I copy link to his page and add brackets on the outsides, so it would appear as this:

[ https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000123/?ref_=nm_rvi_nm_i_2]

is this correct?

Hi @assmn108 -

The formatting of hyperlinking is as follows:

[link=nm0000123] becomes George Clooney

For more details on formatting name and title texts see our Help Guide.

Cheers!

I'm sorry, I still don't understand, why is the link for Clooney this:

https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000123/?ref_=nmbio_ov

and sometimes this?

https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000123/

Hi @assmn108 -

Both URLs point to the same IMDb name page, but the first URL includes tracking parameters that help IMDb understand how you got to that page.  The second URL is a simpler, clean URL directing to the name page without any parameters.

I hop this helps clarify!
