Politicians as "actors" on IMDB
Hi there,
I was wondering whether it's appropriate for a politician to have an IMDB entry just because he/she appeared several times in news shows.
Feedback appreciated.

Julian: "Self" credits for people appearing as themselves in news shows, talk shows, documentaries, game shows, etc. have been accepted in IMDb for many years. I can't see any reason why politicians would be excluded from having IMDb entries like anyone else appearing as himself or herself, and I doubt IMDb would be likely to change its policy regarding people having entries for "Self" appearances.
I would also note that this means that the politicians listed in IMDb are not classified as "actors" unless they have also played roles in fictional programs. For example, Vice President Kamala Harris has 155 Self credits, 218 Archive Footage credits, and 3 Thanks credits, but no acting credits, so she is not listed as being an actress. On the other hand, President Joe Biden does have 3 Actor credits for portraying a fictionalized version of himself in fictional scenarios on television.
