Policy on Korean name order
Is there any special name order policy (or a recent policy change) for people who are from countries that do not follow Western name order?
I've thought IMDb always uses Western name order (that is, given name followed by surname), even for people who have Eastern names.
I'm raising this question because, to my knowledge, recently there has been a huge change in Korean names on IMDb, and now it is one hell of a mess.
(If I recall correctly, most of the popular Korean people's pages used to follow Western name order.)
For instance, on the credits page below,
Original name order (Eastern name order): Bong Joon Ho, Byun Hee-Bong, Park Hae-il, Bae Doona, Ko Asung, ...
Western name order: Kang-ho Song, Dal-su Oh, Je-mun Yun, Pil-sung Yim, ...
