Pixar-related animator pages flooded with fake credits in the past month
I noticed today that a few pages on IMDB relating to Pixar have been absolutely FLOODED with bogus credits in the past month. It's kind of crazy the amount of time it must have took for whoever added these.
Joe Ranft is probably the biggest example. As you can see from archive.org, in June, he had 14 credits under art department:
https://web.archive.org/web/20210630145920if_/https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0710020/
And yet, if you look now, they have BALLOONED to over 40. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0710020/
It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to see that every addition made is completely fake. Apparently, Joe Ranft storyboarded over 240 episodes of The Simpsons, and this was only just noticed now in 2021, years after his death. He also apparently worked on 62 episodes of South Park, 80 episodes of The Tracey Ullman Show, and 101 episodes of DuckTales. Wow, what an unrealistically busy guy! Except for the fact that it doesn't even remotely add up. He lived in Northern California working at Pixar, and I've asked a few Simpsons crew members on Twitter via DM if he ever worked on these shows, and he didn't.
The same thing happened with John Lasseter: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005124/ Aside from how hilarious it is to think that a CEO would be traveling to Southern California back and forth to work on over 160 episodes of The Simpsons, there's no way they wouldn't credit the guy. And the idea of him working on South Park is ludicrous. Bud Luckey, too, was apparently animating hundreds of episodes of Family Guy well into his senior years: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0524726/
I've deleted a couple of these, but there's no way I have the time to catch all of them. Can someone help me out here? This is a blatant abuse of IMDb, plain and simple.

Hi skylar_alexander -
I can confirm that the pages you reported were investigated and the incorrect credits have now been removed.
Cheers!

To skylar_alexander
We also had some prankster on earlier in the past 5 years on IMDB vandalizing the Shimajiro, Doraemon and Pororo the Penguin IMDB pages. And Pixar Animation Studios has been mislabeled on Shimajiro and the Rainbow Oasis in the company credit pages.
We need the IMDB staff to start making policy changes to prevent contribution vandalism or start locking some of the IMDB pages or at least make it a requirement for the IMDB user to verify where they got the information or possibly pay the IMDB staff get an IMDB pro upgrade. I am very against credit mislabeled vandalism and I want to prevent vandalism from happening on IMDB pages.
