Orphaning an episode of a series...

So there's a UK TV series featuring stand-up comedians called, naturally enough, The Comedians. It began in 1971.

Unfortunately there was a round table discussion programme from the US that also went out in 1971, and the title of the show (a special? Part of an overall series?) also went out in 1971.

So someone has made the mistake of this US discussion programme in a UK series. It needs to be exported from the overall series, which is unrelated: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10533072/reference/

However, I'm struggling to find ANY information on this other show. This is all I can find, which doesn't tell us much: https://atvaudio.com/ata_search.php?record_id=5161

Hi @MovieCat -

Thanks for reporting. I have detached them from the series, now they are showing as independent titles. We still have to investigate how should they be listed, if as episodes of a series, what series name if that is the case? or just as individual titles but maybe with a different name? If you find anything or any other community member does just let me know so I can fix this.

Cheers!

@Bethanny Thank you. Ideally I would have liked to have found that out, too, rather than just having them detached, but this seemed a way to fix at least half of the problem.

Odd that there's so little info out there on them.

Can I ask another quick question? From season 9 of The Comedians, there's no longer any onscreen written credits, the cast members each week just wave to camera while an announcer says their name verbally. Am I okay to put that in as credited, or should it be uncredited?

@MovieCat Hey!

As per our guidelines "For documentaries or talk shows where the people appearing on camera are generally not in a separate cast list, their first onscreen appearance where they are identified either by a caption or spoken name is used to determine the order."

I hope that answers your question :)

Cheers!

@Bethanny Thank you.

I have to be honest, in most cases I've been putting these down as "uncredited", but for this series it did seem like a real credit. They're even onscreen as their names are announced.

.. actually, I should have checked, as there's another: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8060460/reference/

Both are listed as "unknown" season, for the obvious reason. Maybe they were seasonal annual shows? But neither of them should be attached to the series.

@MovieCat Isn't this one of the ones I moved? It's listed as a TV Movie not an episode.

@Bethanny Yes, I'd posted that before you'd moved it.
