Ongoing commercial series

I have noticed that rules about adding commercials are neglected in one specific aspect, that aspect being that ongoing commercial series added as TV series rather than singular direct-to-video titles as it should be for commercials. Just a few examples I've noticed:

"Calvin Klein: Obsession" (1990)

"Books: Feed Your Head" (1991)

"Georgia Coffee: Twin Peaks" (1993)

As you can see there is one crucial aspect that might've confused those who added the titles (and, honestly, I'm not sure what to do with it myself): where could we fit the distinctive and known series title in those commercial titles? Would using formatting such as Georgia Coffee: Twin Peaks - Lost (1993) suffice?

I am also not sure where to start with this problem: rename episodes into separate titles and then request deletion of a main shell title, or is there a more efficient algorithm?

P.S. I must admit that I am myself would much rather have non-descriptive series format for any series (film serials, TV series, web series etc.), which would've save us a lot of time, but since that is not the case, that's totally besides the point and those still should be corrected.

Hi Nikolay -

To clarify, our current Title Formatting policy for Commercial title formatting, as represented in our guides still applies:

Brand: Title of advert if known (year) (V) i.e. Chanel N°5: The One That I Want (2014) (V)

Commercials should be listed as  Made for Video titles, should include the keywords: commercial, the brand i.e. chanel-no.-5, and should include a "follows" Connection for ongoing commercial series.

The examples you provided are therefore ineligible listings, as we do not format Commercial titles under a parent/series Brand title.  I have filed a ticket for the clean-up of these titles, the episodes will either need to be merged into the correct standalone title listing, or will need to be re-formatted correctly as a standalone title.

Cheers!

My earlier attempt to clarify some points with commercials didn’t really work. Sure, it’s a long thread (and probably a bit confusing now), but I personally still steer clear from adding commercials.
