”Not to be confused with…” in biographies

Hi.

Sometimes there are two people (or more) with the same name and the same profession - even the quite similar career. Meaning, that there’s a risk for a mix up. ( I just have one of these cases in progress. )

Biographies could help, but sometimes you don’t have that much info about the person (it’s not always easy, especially if the person has passed away). And if you can’t confirm the birth/death dates, it’s hard to add those years to IMDb (especially since solid ”proof” is needed).

Is it alright to add ”not to be confused with xxxx”? ( xxxx = The link to the name page of the ”other person”) when adding a biography? Or perhaps not recommended?

Thanks.

Hi eboy-

As a suggestion, I wouldn't recommend it for this to be added to the Biography section (that's if you are talking about the mini-bio). However, if it's in another Biographical section for example, it could be added as a trivia on the name page or if the surnames are the same in the family detail section as 'Has no relation to.'

If you want, you can post the links of the name pages below so we can take a further look at them.

Cheers!
