Not a video/film!

IMDB listing tt14011192 is an audio book which has released on YouTube as shown under the MORE --> External Sites tab.  It is neither a film, nor a video.  You can argue semantics, but an hour+ long video of a logo with fluctuating audio animation behind it, does not qualify as a film/video in my book.  I am seeing this more and more on IMDB.

At the moment IMDb only allows Podcasts, not all audio only listings. For example, radio plays and serials are not accepted.

Based on a few threads I have seen in these forums, IMDb opened a can of worms with this ”podcast” thing. Now every ”audio” thing seems to Podcast and even the IMDb staff can’t give proper guidelines.

You can’t add the 1938 ”War of the Worlds” radio drama, but if you somehow make it a ”podcast”, it’s all good. You know  what, perhaps if I add it to Youtube...

We're choking on our own red tape.  Internet MOVIE Database....should be easy enough.  I give up.  Seems to me audio-only of ANY kind should be relegated to https://www.TheAudioDB.com.

'Twas the perfect opportunity to advertise.

Well, it wasn't my intention to advertise, but it may give IMDb some ideas.

I think IMDb wanted to list its own podcasts...

The way I see it, all radio dramas/serials (and similar ”audio only” programs) BEFORE the internet - and probably before the invention of the podcast also (when was that exactly - probably not before the 2000s?) - shouldn’t be accepted. The old rule of where the audio program was first, originally released should be the starting point. Whether it was ”podcasted” later on is irrelevant (certainly by putting the audio to Youtube doesn’t count).

The irony of course is that it probably would be much easier to add a more traditional radio (audio) dramas/serials to IMDb, since you’ve actors with characters, directors, writers and producers.. just like in the normal film or a TV episode. But opening that can would bring a lot of work to IMDb data editors. I mean, a lot.

Yes in some points I agree with you it not looks like a film or a video I mean there is not logic behind it but you can not deny there efforts here that they are doing.
