New title addition problem for Windows 10 that works perfectly fine for Apple Macbook... Very frustrating.

Dear anyone in the IMDb staff. Today I've encountered something extremely strange, and something very frustrating as well.

I'll have to report a new update error I'm having problem with right now. Just now when I was about to start contributing in adding a new title for a Norwegian short film on YouTube, I added the required title, type, status and "I am", clicked on "Check these updates" to continue, and... nothing happens. That "Check these updates" button doesn't show the spin at all, and I just end up staying right there without getting further. 😡 Until today, I haven't had such problem like this. And that's on my Windows 10.

So now recently, I had to login on my Apple Macbook just to test the same thing, by trying to add that new title I wanted to submit earlier today. On that Macbook it works 100% fine.

If anyone in the IMDb staff can tell me what the problem could be (or simply the cause of it), please tell me. If you can eventually fix it, then please have it fixed.

In advance, thanks so far.

@chribren  It is worth following the advice in https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/general-information/why-is-imdb-displaying-differently-on-my-browser/GF2ZAR69V859XLHF  (obviously you have already tried a different browser :-).

@Col_Needham I'll take a look on that sometime. But thanks for the advice. I'll tell you right here if there is anything. But I hope for the best in the end.

I just tested the same thing on Chrome, on my Windows 10, and it works there. Apparently, the problem I mentioned earlier seems to only occur on Firefox on my Windows 10, even on the latest version of Firefox I just got now on this evening.

I'll try to look more on it tomorrow. But I hope things will be better on Firefox, which is the browser I use the most. But again, I'll give you an update right here if there is anything.

@chribren Do you have any plug-ins enabled on Firefox (especially ad blockers)?

I have Ad Block which I only use on very few pages that could have unacceptable and annoying pop up ads and such. But otherwise, I'm never using that plug-in, neither on IMDb or any similar databases, nor on nearly all other innocent websites I use regularly.

So far, I can't remember having a plug-in that could affect my use of IMDb, but I'll take a look at it later. Besides, I have multiple other stuff to do, so I'll see what i can do.

I have checked if I had any plug-ins that could affect my use of IMDb on Firefox on my Windows 10, just as I explained earlier. But no, I don't have other such plug-ins, than Ad Block which I only use on a few certain sites with unacceptable ads. And just as I said earlier, I never use Ad Block on IMDb and such.

So I've tested the contribution pages in other places. According to my experience, it appears the Firefox on my Windows 10 is the only place where I can't add new titles for now, because I can do exactly the same thing on my Chrome on the same PC, as well as both Firefox and Chrome on other PCs, without any problem. On the Firefox on my Windows 10, I can actually add new information on existing titles as well as adding new episodes on series.

Okay, now I think I know what the problem is, the reason I couldn't contribute with new titles on the Firefox on my Windows 10, just as I mentioned earlier.

The link where you start the contribution should be like this: https://contribute.imdb.com/updates/edit?update=title&ref_=czone_ra_new_title

But with the link just like this, https://contribute.imdb.com/updates/edit, I couldn't get anywhere. So that's why I was just stuck with the starting point. No wonder the "Check these updates" button wouldn't work. I knew I couldn't have any plug-ins or anything else that could affect my use of IMDb, there must have been a glitch on the system, without me knowing 100%, just saying. But just don't bother click on the second link I added on this description, or you'd just come to the "Conditions of Use" page. The link right above is the right one if you want a shortcut.

So that's all. Problem solved. 😉
