Name split denied 5 times

Recently discovered that about half of my credits are merged with another person that has the same name as me. I tried name splitting for 5 times and I keep getting the "We have reviewed your request and believe the information we have listed to be factual, as such we cannot remove this from the database" message back from customer support. Is there a request form or a process where I can submit materials to prove that I an indeed making a valid data correction?

To make things worse, I tried adding my name to the films I did so some categories such as writing now has this other person and my name being both credited.

Brian,

Go to the IMDb Contact Us form, click the appropriate buttons, provide the 18-digit reference numbers and any other proof that you may have to confirm the credits. You can post the proof in the explanation box on this form by providing a private share URL or a public URL. You should receive a response from an IMDb representative within 24 hours.

I hope this helps.

Brian,

If you tried it five times with no result, you probably did not performed it the way IMDb expects.
Moreover, if you just want to transfer credits between two homonyms, it is quite unlikely that IMDb would answer "we cannot remove this from the database".

How did you do your "split" ? (I think it'd better be called a transfer, if I understand your initial post correctly).

It is likely that I submitted it incorrectly. I just did it again. This time, I did:
IMDb contact us form>IMDb Fan/Contributor Questions>Filmography credits>then I explained that some of the titled I created are attributed to another person that has the same name as me

OK, so let us wait for the outcome.
You could have done it also with the standard edition forms, but you will get a better attention with the contact form.
BTW, has the other homonym person already a name page in IMDb?

Yeah, it's Brian Cheng (I).  Basically, all the director, writer, editor, cinematographer, producer, and composer credits under him right now should be going to me (Brian Cheng (VII)). I really hope this try will work.

Name splits are for moving entire sections of credits. Another approach is used for finely-tuned credit reassignments.
