Mykhailo Hrushevsky's page effectively vandalized against the guidelines
I've added Mykhailo Hrushevsky to IMDb myself after crediting him as "Unnecessary Addition" (which was not meant to be disrespectful and was aimed at how audience might percept such an appearance) in the cast credits of my webisode (it was also the case for another title I'm yet to add but eventually will, a music video), as his statue appeared in the episode. Granted, it is an unusual "(credit only)" case and an equally unusual homage which won't sit well with everyone, but there was literally nothing on the page against IMDb Cast/Acting guidelines, which clearly says that if someone does not appear in the title (and photographs and other kinds of depiction won't count), but is credited, one should be listed.
I believe that the main problem with the person who did this were photographs I added of the statue through Title Scoreacard, but that is also not anything against the guidelines: statue happens to be a depiction of that real person, and person could be tagged in it, just as in cases of persons on photographs seen in production still could be tagged which I've seen numerous times. With paintings, too.
Not only was the page changed to Mykhailo Hrushevsky Statue which is pretty ridiculous in itself, everything I've done on the page, including birth and death dates, links, trivia etc. was removed. I feel like my hard work was tarnished and that just kind of ruined the day for me (well, almost, I got ahold of myself, but still). As a director of this webisode I can attest that I was not crediting a statue, I was crediting a real historical figure who just so happens to appear in a statue in my webisode.
By the logic of the person who did it Liza Minelli should be stripped of her credit in The King of Comedy (1982) and instead we should make a separate page of "Liza Minelli's Cardboard Printed Photograph Cutout on the Wall" which will receive the "accurate" credit. It just doesn't make sense. Although, by the way, Minelli's listing could have had an attribute "(scenes deleted)" since apart from a photograph she also did a few scenes that never ended up in the final cut of the movie, but it seems that "(credit only)" attribute overrides these of "(archive footage)" in cases of main cast of the TV series and "(scenes deleted)" in movies in case there are appearances in something like photographs. I can totally get it. What I can't get is why my hard work on Mykhailo Hrushevsky's page was tarnished and turned into a travesty that also icorrectly reflects my intentions as a director of the title.

Agreed, the name page should reflect the individual. Have you submitted a name text change to turn it back to the correct name page heading?
