My Submission Keeps Getting Declined

I did a principal role on an episode of Days of Our Lives with a contract date of 10/14/1982. I have tried to submit this multiple times to IMDB and it keeps getting declined. Unfortunately I do not have the exact episode and I am not able to find the show as it does not seem to be available online. I attached my actual AFTRA principal performer contract with the submission which should suffice as proof. The contract does have the character name I played also and I did put that in the submission. IMDB really does not give you any clue on why a submission is declined other then go to guidelines. Have a lot of other credits I want to input, but if this is what the experience is going to be, probably not worth it.

Davida: Unfortunately to report, ever since IMDb instituted full episode support in 2006, substantially all television series credits on IMDb have to be associated with a particular episode. That works well for shows with a finite number of episodes which have continuously remained available since their original broadcast, but not particularly well for soap operas from the past.

I don't know what a "contract date" means in this context. I take it that it's not the airdate of the episode, because if it were, that would make this submission a lot easier.

In order to submit your credit, it will be necessary to identify it to a particular episode. And in the case of "Days of Our Lives", that means identifying it by episode number or by airdate since the episodes don't have descriptive titles. (See https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058796/episodes/?year=1982 for the list of "Days" episodes from 1982 as listed on IMDb.)

IMDb may well believe that you did appear on the show based on seeing your contract, but without knowing the specific episode, they effectively can't list that credit.

If you have a lot of other credits you want to input, I recommend starting with the "easier" ones. For episodic television, that would mean ones where you know exactly which episode you appeared in.

I hope this helps.

Thanks much gromit82 for your response to my issue. It was all me. I went back and saw that I had to add the credit directly under the actual episode I worked in. I did it yesterday and it got approved. Thanks for the assist. Dave

Hello Davida1099,

What gromit82 mentioned is important, in this case credits have to be added to the episodes which you received the credit on.

Also, Can you post the 18-digits submission reference number for the rejected submissions? so I can take a look for you.

You can find the submission history in your Contribution History page.

@Fran

Thanks very much Fran. It was all me. I went back and saw that I had to add the credit directly under the actual episode I worked in. I did it yesterday and it got approved. Thanks though for your quick response.
