My review is not appearing

A few weeks ago, after watching the first episode of The Gilded Age, post a review, which appeared. I then watched the rest of the first series and after the last I wrote and posted another review, making additional points (and, crucially, mentioning I had already reviewed the first episode). That review did not appear.

Thinking I might have been misremembering that I had posted (and that I hadn't, in fact), I posted it again. Again it did not appear.

I then decided I had perhaps included a 'spoiler detail' but had not marked my review was 'containing spoilers'. So I posted it for a third time, this time clicking the box that it 'contained spoilers'. But still it has not appeared.

I would get in touch with IMDb to find out what the score is, but these days, along with pretty much every other presence online, no means of getting in touch is indicated.

I want to find out WHAT is going on and  how I might get my review of the final first season episode published, but I can't think not.

Any ideas?

@pfgpowell  You are getting in touch with IMDb by posting here.

You can track the progress of specific review contributions via your contribution history -> https://contribute.imdb.com/contributions/history or via the tracking link in the email receipt for the review.

General processing times are available at https://contribute.imdb.com/times

If your review has been rejected, please see https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/contribution-information/user-review-guidelines/GABTWSNLDNFLPRRH

Hope this helps.

Thank you for that, but it doesn't help one bit.

I know where I can track the progress of my contributions, where I can see all my contributions and, most pertinently, what the 'guidelines' are and where I can find a list of them (it's a long list).

It is obvious that somehow I have contravened a guideline but finding out which one (or ones) is proving impossible, because it could be one of many, many of them. As I say, there are A LOT.

THAT is the problem, not knowing or having any way of knowing, but rousing someone at IMDb specifically to tell me where I have gone off-piste (so to speak) is impossible.

If I KNEW what I'd done, I could easily amend it and thus abide by the guidelines. Do you not understand that?

As often seems to be the case the lists of FAQs are all too often worse than useless. It's like appearing in court but not knowing or being told what you are charged with.

So, can you help on that score?

@pfgpowell Ah, sorry for the misunderstanding.

Please let us know the 18-digit contribution ID for the latest resubmission and also the reason for the rejection as shown to you on: https://contribute.imdb.com/contributions/history

So your original review is still located at https://www.imdb.com/review/rw9426917/ and is unedited? Note that we only permit one review per title so the status in your contribution history should have shown it was rejected for being a duplicate.  For instructions on how to edit an existing review, please see https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/contribution-information/how-do-i-edit-or-remove-a-review/G6Q9LAZC72JMLDQB

Well, here is the number

#231124-205148-510104

but all it says is 'declined'.

And it is not a duplicate: the first review was of episode 1 and the last of episode 9. And each was freshly written, with the second even mentioning that (I paraphrase) I had previously thought The Gilded Age was a poor effort and that having now watched it all, I had no reason at all to change my mind.

I then, in the second review, went on to flesh out my judgment.

Furthermore, I have previously left several - different - reviews on different episodes of Vikings with no problems at all.

None of this addresses one of my main points that there is zero information from IMDB. Even - now - knowing there the contributors list is doesn't tell me anything but that it was 'declined'. And I knew that anyway. Reasons? Zilch.

The submission provided is not meeting our User Reviews guidelines, since the review is not based in the movie content, it is talking about real life events, and also there are social commentaries which we do not allow based on the our guidelines. Feel free to re submit a new User review based on the guidelines.

My 'social commentary' is an intricate part of my judgment that The Gilded Age is pretty mediocre. And in that sense it is not 'social commentary. I do NOT make any political points either way. None.

I point out that, essentially the historical 'gilded age' was interesting from the point of view of US history, but The Gilded Age is little more than a soap opera with billions thrown at it.

And my review is soley based on the programme content. Does that make any sense to you?

In sum, you can't be City Hall. Know your place and shut up.
