My Oscar-Qualifying film earned a score of 9.5 through 107 credible votes, one 10/10 vote later, IMDb dropped it to a 5.4. - PLEASE HELP!

Honestly, this is devastating. I worked tirelessly for years on my previous film, I financed it, I was able to secure Michael Madsen for a significant role, we premiered at TCL Chinese Theatres, we won 9 awards and were Oscar-Qualified. We were incredibly blessed. Over the course of years since its release, the title has slowly accumulated 108 votes up to now from credible and real IMDb users. From screenings to events and festivals, I encouraged many to sign up on the platform and to score the film accurately.

Two weeks ago, we had 107 votes, with around ninety 10/10s, ten 01/10s, and a few other votes scattered around. The title score was 9.5.

We then received a new 10/10 vote from someone who absolutely loved the film, accumulating 108 total votes, and the score dropped DRASTICALLY to 5.4.

I immediately reached out to IMDb support, citing my awareness of the "weighted average scheme", however for the score to drop SO SIGNIFICANTLY, something was CLEARLY WRONG, as something has clearly happened. The score seems to have adjusted as if COMPLETELY IGNORING all 10/10 votes. Again, these are votes from credible profiles, not spam or bots or any form of foul play.

We received so many high-scores, frankly, because of all the talented artists involved, and the film is great. I would understand a cap for 10/10 votes. I would understand a slight change in any logical mean, median, or mode voting model. What is happening here, is a drastic overcorrection, a blatant illogical error. This controlled coded software that was meant to maintain score-integrity, in this case, has rather controlled the title, general IMDb support staff, and failed the initial intention; score-integrity.

With IMDb being the absolute source for film-work and credibility, having the film’s rating drop to an undeserving terrible score, is detrimental to all of the creatives’ livelihoods, merit and abilities, and future financing. Sadly as well, this is happening during a current crucial point of the film’s acquisition and is affecting our bottom-line.

I’m desperate for a way for the score to be re-established accurately, to be reflected based on honest votes from credible users. IMDb support has unfortunately only recited very brief language, stating that there are no issues, with no explanation regarding what’s happened. :(

Does anyone have a solution to retain our accurate score and repair this detrimental error?

Film is my greatest passion, and I still love you IMDb.

Thank you so much.
