Solved

My name spelled wrong in film credits

Two of my songs were used in the movie “Laws of Gravity“ and a friend just happened to look it up and notice that my name is spelled incorrectly on IMDb for that movie. How can I get that changed? I’d like to have the credit for my songs represented correctly.

Thanks!

Peg: I was able to find the credits of this film online and found that there was a lot of soundtrack data missing, so I went ahead and corrected the spelling of your name as well as providing the other information too. (As shown at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3b8OAKyUtSM the film's credits do indeed spell your name correctly as Peg Tassey; the misspelled version of your surname appeared only on IMDb.)

Allow a few days for the correction to be processed. Good luck!

Hi! That’s awfully nice of you! Are you associated with the film? I am new to IMDb so I’m not sure how this works! But thank you so much!

Ps! The songs were Written and performed by me. I just looked at the credits on the movie and it doesn’t say that the songs were written by me as well, but there’s nothing I can do about that!
By the way, it’s an interesting story how my songs got in that movie. I live in Vermont and there was a college student from Vermont interning at the shooting gallery who had bought one of my cassettes at a show and was playing it while she was working there. Nick asked who the music was by and then got in touch with me. Obviously, he was aware that he wouldn’t have to pay a lot of money for my music. But I told him I wanted him to make a video of my band iand he was supposed to come to Vermont and do that in exchange for using the songs. However, I got a call a couple days before he was supposed to arrive, and he was on his way to California to sign to virgin films if I’m remembering it correctly. He offered to send me a bunch of super8 film so I could make a video of my band and I said no thanks but you can send me $500… Which he did, haha! I wonder how much money he made on the film in the long run! Because I remember seeing it in stores in Vermont in the VHS days, ha ha! Maybe I should’ve asked for more!

@pegtassey No, I am not associated with the film. In fact, I have only watched the credits, not the rest of the movie.

According to the AFI CatalogLaws of Gravity was made on a production budget of only $38,000, although I wonder if this could be a situation like Clerks (1994) where more was spent on the music rights than on actually making the movie.

Everyone is welcome to contribute data to IMDb, if you would like to do so, I encourage you to review our following Help Guides for further detailed information:

I added our Soundtracks Help Guide where you will find instructions on our rules, formatting, and how to specifically add this information to the site.
