Solved

My company is mistakenly credited on a TV show

(I've edited this post a few times now and removed all links because I'm not sure what is causing it to be flagged as 'private,' but it seems that once a post is private it cannot be made public. Hopefully someone other than myself can still see this because I can't figure out how to delete it and I do not want to post a duplicate and make more work for moderators, etc)

Seeing as this post is going to be private no matter what I do I may as well include all the links I originally had.

I submitted this revision a few days ago but it was declined because "we were unable to verify the information provided." But I am not sure how to prove that I was not involved in the creation of a specific episode of television.

The contribution which was declined was:

#241012-223600-747000

Hopefully the following information is enough to show you it is impossible that my company was involved in that episode:

The episode aired on December 6, 2000: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0715690/

My company was not founded until over 4 years later on May 25, 2005: https://www.corporationwiki.com/Texas/Austin/pitch-productions-llc/36959173.aspx

You can see me listed as the owner of Pitch Productions in the above link as well as listed on my Linked in profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/caffesse/

I'm not sure if you need more detail - but I am the sole employee and member of my company, and if you look at every other credit for this 'Pitch Productions' on IMDB you will see they are all (with the exception of this one TV episode) connected to me and my personal credits.

List of PITCH PRODUCTIONS properties: https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?companies=co0331505

My personal credits on IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1158562/

Lastly - the show my company is mistakenly credited with is an animated show and my company is credited with 'animation' on the episode. But if you look at all the other credits Pitch Productions has (or that I personally have), you'll see that I have never done anything involving animation.

This isn't a huge deal in the grand scheme of things (and trust me, I wish I was cool enough to work with Robert Smigel and TV Fun House), but my main concern is simply accidentally taking credit for something I had nothing to do with. It is not really harming me to have that episode listed, but I would prefer to have it removed if possible. I assume someone meant to link it up to a different Pitch Productions (there are quite a few companies with similar names out there).

Thanks for your help on this.

Much appreciated!

Hi @caffesse -

I was able to review the on-screen credits and can confirm that there is a company credit listing for "Pitch Productions Inc.":

Since the company credit is valid we cannot remove the listing, however, if the credit belongs to another company of the same name, you can instead submit a company credit correction to move the credit to a new/separate company page.  For general instructions on how to submit credit corrections I encourage you to review our Help Guide.  Once the correction has been submitted our staff will take a look.

I hope this helps!

Hi Michelle - thanks so much for digging into that and taking the time to save a screenshot! That definitely shows that it was a different company (my company is Pitch Productions, LLC not Pitch Productions, INC).

Pitch Productions INC does not seem to have an IMDB page yet so it may require a new listing.

I've submitted a company credit correction (#241015-035359-920000)

Thank you so much for your help.

Hi @caffesse -

Your welcome!  I can see the submission has now been approved and the credit should be updated live on the site shortly.  Cheers!
