Multiple accounts

Hi, I have a regular account, and would like to claim my page and upgrade to IMDbPro, but when I try to do that, I am prompted to login with my Amazon account, not my IMDb account--will this create a new account and give me multiple accounts?

Also, there seem to be two listings for me: Janice Hall (1) and Janice Hall (II). The first has my correct info, although it needs updating; the second has one recent credit listed incorrectly, plus two credits that definitely aren't mine. How can I tell if this is an account I need to merge/delete, or if it is someone else's account who has the same name?

Thanks for any help.

Hello @jansopran,

I see you have two questions, let answer you in the same order, one by one.

Question #1:

It looks like you haven't linked your Amazon and IMDb accounts. Please note that currently creating an IMDbPro membership without linking your Amazon account is not possible at this time. If you do not have an existing Amazon account to link, we welcome you to create a free one at this time, so you may continue with renewing your membership.

Amazon makes it easy, so you do not have to re-enter your card and billing details when joining or renewing your IMDbPro membership. You can also set your preferred payment method within your Amazon account for future IMDbPro payments to default to.

Now, if you already have an Amazon account and you want to create an IMDbPro membership, please take the following steps:

  1. Visit the IMDbPro sign up page
  2. Under the "Log In" drop down menu, select "Login with Amazon"
  3. Input the login details for your Amazon account
  4. Give IMDb permission to log in with your Amazon account
  5. Refer to "Already have a IMDb account?", and select "Connect it to your Amazon account"
  6. Input your login details to connect your IMDb account
  7. Once you've linked your accounts you'll be able to select your membership level and payment method to renew your membership.

For further information on linking as well as a reference video, please see our help page article.

Once, you have linked your Amazon account, you will be able to create your IMDbPro membership. Remember that you will be linking your IMDb account with your Amazon account ant not creating multiple accounts.

Question #2:

I have checked Janice Hall(I) and Janice Hall(II) and I see that Janice Hall(II) has only three credits, if none of the three credits belong to you, then it is a name page of another person who shares the same name as you.

Hi Jon,

Thanks for this great information; that definitely solves Question 1!

As for question 2: one of the credits on the second Janice Hall page (Law & Order SVU) is mine, but the other 2 are not. That's why I am confused.

Thanks for any further information.

Best, Janice

Janice: The simplest way to fix this problem is to go to the page for the specific "Law & Order: SVU" episode at https://www.imdb.com/title/tt30094911/. Click "Edit page" and then proceed to submit a correction to the Cast, to change the person playing the Female Shopper to Hall, Janice (I) instead.

Make sure to check the box to provide an explanation. Your explanation should be something like "I am Janice Hall (I). This credit was mistakenly listed under Janice Hall (II). However, I am the person who played the role and it should be credited to Janice Hall (I)." The reason for giving this explanation is so that the IMDb staff will see that you are making this change intentionally and with good reason.

If you need any more details, please let us know.

After this correction is processed, the Janice Hall (II) page will just be for another actress of the same name, and you can disregard it as it will no longer be relevant to you.

I hope this helps. Good luck!
