Missing Box Office

Hi,

I noticed that there are some movies doesn't have any box office data, especially movie before 2000. Is there any reason for that? Does that mean they don't have box-office income or the website just didn't included it. Thanks!

Best,

Vicky

Vicky: Box office data reporting used to be a lot more haphazard than it is nowadays. Before the early 1980s, a lot less data was available about how much films grossed at the box office. The information just wasn't being published; presumably the movie studios knew how much their films were grossing nationwide, but that information wasn't necessarily being published in, say, Variety magazine or elsewhere.
