@bderoes I've found a couple pages for miniseries without any episode, which I wasn't aware is possible to do when contributing a new title. This exception makes it difficult for an idea that I wanted to post, which is to tie end dates for series/miniseries to the last episode except series/miniseries that have new episodes within the past three years. For example in this year, series/miniseries that have their last episodes three years ago should be automatically updated with an end year of "2017". (This idea was prompted by many pages for old series that don't have any series end date, despite a last episode dated years ago.)
But we have a mechanism for contributors to submit end dates now:
How do I change the end year of a series?
TV series are identified by the year of their broadcast run: When a show is still running the end year will be omitted: Adding series end year If you know that a TV show is no longer being broadcast, but we don't have a end year listed ... Read more.
I know @bderoes. Introducing it now, though, doesn't help old series/miniseries unless contributors want to manually comb thru the database for those that haven't been ended on IMDb. In general, I think IMDb should automate some data cleanup (I thought that this idea would be an example until I found exceptions that made it hard to write an automation script).
(I'm guessing that an IMDb staff has acknowledged this problem. Given the cultural significance of Disney's catalog, I'd have guessed that there's a more canonical database than on wiki sites. I wouldn't be surprised if the episodes are being archived at a library or film school.)
I assume that it's not hard to merge a series into another anthology series on a title level, without needing to do so for every episode. Since Wikipedia lists episodes until the present, IMDb should add episodes after 2005. Hopefully, the episodes that were redundant with stand-alone titles will be converted to shell episodes.
Actually, I just saw IMDb merge 2 series today (a thread here).
Only 14 episodes, theough.
rootsmusic: it's not necessarily true that just because a stand-alone episode was added to IMDb, a shell episode should represent it in the series. ONLY if the stand-alone was truly released BEFORE its series-airing is a shell episode appropriate.
@Karen_P, that'd be 62 episodes to vacate. Maybe the tediousness of doing so was why contributors stopped adding more episodes after 2005. Since it's easier to fix problems on Wikipedia, I'm thinking that's partly why their information is updated.
In Wikipedia, large projects are collaboratively tackled by task forces of editors. (I've edited Wikipedia articles, but I haven't joined any task force.) On here, I can't find any similar idea to work on large projects or adopt certain areas.

_Was_there_ a 1998 season?
It has no episodes, no cast.
The Series shows it ending 1997.
And the series has no episodes after 1991.
Do you have some reliable source(s)?
