Merging an "actor" into the entry for an actress

I notice that Shelley Williams(I) nm1479138 and Shelley Williams(VII) nm13851449 both have credits playing the same character in The Sandman (2022). As far as I can tell, they are the same person.

However Shelley Williams(VII) is listed an "actor", despite playing characters with female names. I think the listing as actor (male) is an error.

First of all, do people think I'm correct that they are the same person?

Assuming they are, if I want to merge the entries, should I first change Shelley Williams(VII) to female. Or should I merge them and then sort out any mis-gendering if the resulting merged entry changes from female to male, as happened in reverse with Narinder Samra a week or so ago?

It's all a lot harder now that changing the gender requires a supporting URL: there doesn't seem to be a mechanism for saying "this is an error, not a mis-gendering". I imagine the error stems from "actor" being the default value when adding a brand new name, with a conscious change being needed to select "actress" instead.

Hi martin_695862-

I have taken a further look into these two name pages and the credits as well, it has been sorted so that there is not a mis-gendering with the merge. You can now go ahead and submit the name merge for this actress.

Cheers!
