Merger request: Raffles 1975 TV movie

The 1975 British TV movie Raffles (www.imdb.com/title/tt0073602) is actually the pilot episode of the British TV series Raffles (www.imdb.com/title/tt0075563), specifically episode 0 (www.imdb.com/title/tt0682343). All the salient details are the same, including, most tellingly, the date first aired on British TV, 10 September 1975.
The TV movie should be folded into the pilot episode, and no longer listed as a separate entity, yes?

Yes, perhaps. Episode Guidelines has this exception:

In some cases TV movies or specials are created with no intention of going to series, however they become so popular that one ends up being commissioned. On these occasions we would prefer to keep the original TV Movie separate, as was originally intended, even if it is subsequently packaged as part of the overall series in future airings and dvd releases.

It may be difficult to say for sure whether this was the case.

Of course, it can be difficult to say. But the problem here is that the same movie/episode is listed twice, with no cross-reference or link between them to show that they are one and the same thing. If a merger isn't within the policy parameters, at least some kind of link? Perhaps letting the pilot episode (#0) refer back to the listed TV movie?

Hello charles_smith_b9pqgyhwl9o17

We have checked the titles and the request that you would like to submit, we do not consider that the titles should be merged. In this case you can submit a connection or trivia item to the titles reflecting the connection between the titles.

You can find information about Movie Connections and Trivia on our help articles.

I think they should be merged since they refer to the same broadcast, it's just a question of which one should remain.

It would be helpful to know the reasons that you "do not consider that the titles should be merged": a difference in run-time, perhaps? some discrepancies in the cast/crew lists? or just the uncertainty of determining the connections between the two?
At any rate, I have submitted a Trivia item to the pilot episode, pointing out the apparent connection to what originally appeared as a TV movie, and noting that complete collections of the TV series identify the pilot and the TV movie.
