merge rejection

I'm trying to merge two titles on IMDb, but I'm having a problem with getting past the rejections on the automated date entry form.

In short, here are the 2 titles: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt18155312/?ref_=ttep_ep118

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6058140/

I've just seen the episode in question on Hungarian TV and I can confirm that the actors in the "non-Rosamunde Pilcher" listing are correct (the supplied picture even has "Rosamunde Pilcher" written above the episode title), and that the title is listed on-screen as "Rosamunde Pilcher" plus the episode title (as in the first listing).

The trouble is that the automated system tells me that:

"This title looks like a movie. That type of title does not have episodes"

"The year or title type tag is incorrectly formatted."
"Please check the spelling and format of the correction as Rosamunde Pilcher is not a recognised TV-series."

Here is the Rosamunde Pilcher episode page (does that make it a "recognised" TV series?): https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0907694/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_7_nm_1_q_rosamunde%2520pilcher

Any suggestions on how I should proceed?

Assuming you want the merged page to be the episode of the series, do this.

Start at https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6058140/, Edit page, select "Title Correction".

In the text input field put:

"Rosamunde Pilcher" (1993) {Wahlversprechen und andere Lügen (#1.127)}

Add your explanation and re-check.

You will get two warnings. One for the change of type, one for the merge. Select the 'Warning understood' box for both and re-check.

That should leave you with a form ready to submit.

The part that is not obvious is knowing what to put into the text input field. If you go to https://www.imdb.com/title/tt18155312/?ref_=ttep_ep118 and select Edit page there is a title at the top. The part after "Updating Information for " is what you need. There is also a link at the bottom following "Or go back to" and the text of that link is also the input you need.

Thanks!

It worked exactly as you described (which in my experience is very rare with any automated system/IT topic).
