Mel Gibson - uncredited ”distributor executive” credits
Hi.
Just noticed that Mel Gibson has probably over 100 ”distributor executive” credits on his IMDb page. Most (if not all) are ”uncredited” and I believe fairly recently added. I assume that these are somehow related to ”Icon Productions”.
These type of credits are accepted?

eboy: I'm not even sure that the "Icon" companies for the films for which Gibson has "distributor executive" credits (Drop Dead Gorgeous, Duets, Heartbreakers, etc.) are even affiliated with Gibson's own Icon Productions. They may be unrelated companies with similar names.
But even if they were subsidiaries of Icon Productions, the "distributor executive" credits seem unnecessary to me. It looks to me like some IMDb contributors are assigning producer credits on their own without regard for who actually is entitled to producer credits.
