Malcolm in the Middle revival

The upcoming Malcolm in the Middle revival has its own page on the site:

However, the episodes have now also been added to the original show as "season 8":

The revival has its own subtitle ("Life's Still Unfair") and is referred to as "a four-part event" by Disney+. I know whether to treat revivals as new seasons of the old show or its own thing is often a tricky question, but there's nothing indicating this is meant to be "season 8" here. Thoughts?
