Loop / Walla / ADR credits should NOT be Miscellaneous Crew

I get that IMDb wants Loop / ADR credits to be listed as "Miscellaneous Crew". But it's wrong. It should be "Actor", either "voice/various" or simply "loop / walla / ADR". Why? It's a real skill, a real job, one that earns union wages and even residuals in most cases, requires acting chops, and is not a driver/gofer/assistant type gig. When editing your overall "Filmography", it lists "actor" and "non-actor" separately. And Misc. Crew is listed in "non-acting". So it's just plain inaccurate. The issue that it's considered non-acting blows IMDb's credibility. Yeah, it's not Olivier, it's not Streep, but it is acting. To consider it otherwise is unprofessional, unfair, uncool and non-credible.

Hi jodada-

We are aware that credits are grouped in categories that sometimes don't accurately reflect how they are displayed and organized in film credits or production listings (such as placing them under "Additional Crew"). While we try, whenever possible, to follow standard industry conventions, our organization is also based on internal technical requirements, which in some cases necessitate grouping together credits for unrelated jobs. Our long term plan is to create more specific lists and move credits across them; however, since this is dictated by our internal data management priorities, we can't predict exactly how or when this will take place.

Cheers!

@Bethanny  While i think I get what you mean, the issue to me is that Loop / ADR / walla is NOT grouped with the job it is -- off-camera voice acting. It is grouped with non-acting jobs and barred from appearing with acting jobs. I receive residuals from SAG-AFTRA for much of the work I do in ADR. When I sing in a film, it's music department or soundtrack, fine, clear cut. When I play a character in an animated film, it's as an actor also fine, clear cut. But when I play multiple characters, occasionally I am allowed "voice (various) and most other times, not. That inconsistency belies the tech organizational limitations you cite. Human error? Ghosts in the machine? Maybe. But the result is, it minimizes my work (like over 200 episodes of Family Guy or 198 of American Dad, called "Misc. Crew") and makes it harder for me to work. That minimizes the professional credibility of IMDb, which I know IMDb wants. Just saying.
