Looking For Guidance: Updating Old TV Show Details (The Johnny Carson Show - c1955)
I'm looking for guidance on how to go about updating the details about The Johnny Carson Show (1955). These are the details I'd like to add/correct:
- detail - This was a primetime variety TV show produced by CBS
- There is an episode listed from 1953. This must be erroneous, as the show did not air until 1955. Quite possibly the 1953 episode listed really belongs to "Carson's Cellar" (1953). Can anything be done about this?
- There were actually two shows titled "The Johnny Carson Show". The original show, which the existing entry refers to, ran in primetime from 1955-6. The second show was contracted after the first was cancelled, and it ran in the daytime during 1956 only. I think it would make sense to list the two shows separately as "The Johnny Carson Show (1955)" and "The Johnny Carson Show (1956)" since, I believe, the studio treated them independently. But, maybe it's just simpler to list them as two different seasons of the same show since they had the same title. Suggestions?

If an episode is under the wrong series, you can submit a title correction, changing the parent series to the correct one, if only that episode has the incorrect date, the date should be fixed automatically, if not I'll be happy to help with that.
Regarding how to list the series, that depends on how it was originally released/marketed. If it was marketed as a continuation of the first one we can list them as seasons, if it was marketed as inspired by, related to, but different separate series we can list them separate. In which case you will need to add the new series and move the episodes if necessary.
