Known For...

How do you determine what someone is "known for"? I'm Tom Reeder (1), a TV writer, and it says I'm known for Stand By Your Man. Trust me, even Rosie O'Donnell isn't known for that show, which only lasted a few episodes. Among my colleagues, I'm known for Barney Miller, Cheers, M*A*S*H, Night Court, and Frasier.  Is there any way to correct this?

Tom: I can't figure out why the algorithm selected "Stand by Your Man" as the first show you are supposedly known for. IMDb does not make the details of the algorithm known to the public.

That said, if you pay for an IMDbPro subscription, you will have the ability to choose your own "known for" titles from your filmography. See https://help.imdb.com/article/imdbpro/manage-your-imdb-page/manage-your-filmography/GH8XTYSWKU2P96TA#howtoedit for details.

I don't work for IMDb and I have no personal interest in whether you do or don't subscribe to IMDbPro. I am just letting you know this is an option.
