Items which are repeated within a series

This drama https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0277667/ was originally broadcast in 1980 on ITV in the UK as confirmed here Collections Search | BFI | British Film Institute but received its US premiere 25 years later within the Frontline TV series, which is the only place IMDb have it listed.  This means that people who had died or stopped working years before have this listed for 2005 in their filmographies.  However, if I add the 1980 UK broadcast date, that will probably mess up the whole Frontline series which did not start until 1983, by changing its main date.  If I move it to its own separate title, that will remove the Frontline version, which has reviews which are specifically relevant to its American showing.

On the more general note, I have seen incidents of items which are shown and then later repeated within an umbrella series many times over the years.  Is it IMDb preferred policy to display complete casts & crews for both versions?

Archive.org shows that the title was listed as Death of a Princess (1980) (TV) until around 2018, when it was apparently moved or merged into the Frontline series.

Given that it was aired in 1980, I think it would make sense to change the title back to a TV special and then add the release date(s).

There is then the possibility of adding a "shell episode" to Frontline with only limited credits. This is, perhaps confusingly, mentioned in the cast guidelines (last note in section A).

Hi Vande -

Based on the information you provided, the title has now been adjusted to a standalone TV Movie on the site

As Peter recommended above, the title will also remain listed as a shell episode (with no cast or crew) under the "Frontline" series banner.

Cheers!

@Michelle very kind of you thank you!

I was pondering how to proceed, and hadn't got around to it yet, so thank you for doing it :-)
