Your Comment
The James Yorkston in question is a Scottish musician born in 1971. He has been erroneously cited as the writer of the 19th century music-hall song "Molly Malone", whose composer was another James Yorkston, also Scottish, who published the song in Edinburgh in 1884. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molly_Malone.

Is the info on Wikipedia pages inadequate to verify that a modern musician is credited with writing a song written 100 years before he was born?

I simply wanted to split off 4 credits in Soundtracks which belong to the earlier James Yorkston, although the latter does not as yet have his own IMDb page. I pointed this out in my submission. (Two of the soundtracks were in films released even before the modern JY was born.)

Perhaps I did the split wrong; it's a first time. But the substance of the objection is correct.

Hi @hutch48 -

As per our guidelines we do not consider Wikipedia (or other collaboratively edited wiki-style sites) to be an acceptable source for birth dates.

Thanks!

You're also adding the URL as a birthplace. I even have a thread about this mistake keeps getting approved: https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/how-are-these-birthplaces-approved/64349e82cab3782a6e0cce0f
