@Col_Needham & @Bethanny

It seems to have happened again.... All the images that I uploaded to the first three episodes of season 3 of Three Up Two Down (1985) have vanished this morning.  They were there at around 7am GMT when I uploaded the images for S3 E3 but I noticed that there had gone when I returned a couple of hours later to upload images for the next episode....

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Don

On the IMDb page for this title (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10505918/mediaindex/), all the recently uploaded BTS images and posters were deleted, and two AI-generated fan art posters (since deleted) were re-uploaded in their place. This is reminiscent of the vandalism that occurred in the gallery for the first part of this movie several months ago, suggesting that this entry might be experiencing similar interference. However, something seems particularly unusual. If someone had vandalized the page and re-uploaded the AI-generated posters (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10505918/mediaviewer/rm2362266625/ and imdb.com/title/tt10505918/mediaviewer/rm2412598273/), these images should ideally appear after the existing poster in the upload order. Yet, they’ve returned to their exact original positions prior to being deleted. How is that possible? Could this be a technical glitch?

Alternatively, it raises the possibility of a systematic rollback, reverting all recent contributions to a previous state. What exactly is happening here? Could someone please investigate? Additionally, please review the gallery logs to check if new uploads are consistently being removed by any disruptive user. Because, the images newly uploaded were released months ago, so it’s possible that they had already been uploaded by another user previously.

Note: This comment was created from a merged conversation originally titled Vandalism in the image gallery , or is it technical glitch/revert?

NEW NOTE: This also happened at the title https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10345546/. Rollbacked all new uploads. What is happening?

Although images returned at https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10505918/mediaindex/, at https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10345546/, there were 97 (without adding invisible images) images at the time of reporting but now it is only 69.

Hi all,

I can confirm this issue has now been resolved, and all missing images should now be restored.

Please let us know if there any images still missing or if you experience any other instances of new images not showing on the site.

Cheers!

@Ozzy Only 70 pictures (including one newly uploaded) now visible at https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10345546/. There were 97 pictures.

Hi @Germanic,

The missing additional 27 images you're referring to were removed because they did meet our Image contribution guidelines. Said images either contained watermarks or did not meet the quality criteria for title images.

I hope this helps!

@Ozzy I think you are referring to the watermark of Aniesh Upaasana, who is the official still photographer of the movie, whose credits can see seen in the posters (bottom right). His photographs are owned by the production house and he's an employee.

Poster credit can be viewed from production house's handle: https://x.com/aashirvadcine

Hi @Germanic,

Yes, as stated in the Image guidelines, "Images displaying third-party ownership or branding, such as watermarks(...)" are not permitted. Only certain watermarked images meet our criteria, such as those belonging to "the production company or TV channel(...)", of which these are not, and therefore cannot be approved for publication in the title's gallery. Any other images that do not meet our guidelines or image quality criteria will also have been removed.

Cheers!

@Ozzy But the stills with watermarks of Aniesh Upaasana belongs to the production company. It should be reinstated to the gallery. Am I missing something?

Hi @Germanic,

These watermarks are third-party owned and are branding, not a direct affiliation with the production company. They are therefore not acceptable.

If known, details such as an image's copyright owner should be added into the appropriate field when submitting images to IMDb. (See attached image).

Thanks!

@Ozzy How do you know it is third party "owned"? You sounds like you know it personally. Watermark doesn't means ownership.

Hi @Germanic -

Typically, images that are watermarked usually indicate ownership, authorship, or copyright of the image, with the purpose to provide copyright protection, branding, and used to prevent general theft or misuse.  In the case for these images, the watermark appears to be branding by a party non-representative of the production company, which as Ozzy mentioned above, is not acceptable.

@Michelle I have already provided evidence for supporting the claim that he represents the production company. See the credits in the posters. You have not addressed that.

Hi @Germanic,

As stated above, the watermark(s) on the images you're referring to are branding by a party non-representative of the production company, and not an official representation of the production company itself, and are therefore not acceptable.
