Issue submitting external reviews

Hello all, I'm not sure if this should be in Data Issues or not, so apologies if I've posted in the wrong place. I've been submitting external reviews for Eye For Film to IMDb for years with no problems but I've just realised that for the past few months they have been being declined - I realise I should have been probably checking on these but with no issues for a decade, it never thought to occur to me. I'm using the required format EyeForFilm [Reviewer Name], so far as I know. The reason for them being declined is given as: Your contribution has been declined. We did not capture a specific reason during processing. That doesn't really give me a place to start so I would be very grateful for any advice/insight into what is going on here.

It occurs to me it might be useful to include an example of a declined link, so:

https://www.eyeforfilm.co.uk/review/the-good-daughter-2025-film-review-by-amber-wilkinson

Submitted as EyeForFilm [Amber Wilkinson]

Many thanks

Amber: Also, please provide a submission reference number from when you submitted a link to the External Reviews section. It's an 18-digit number that will look something like 260123-123456-789000. You can find it in your submission history at https://contribute.imdb.com/updates/history/ .

That will help the IMDb staff look up what you submitted and see if there was a problem, or, more likely, determine that your link was rejected by mistake and should be accepted.

@gromit82 Hi yes, okay, so here's one I did today. 261002-090430-485000 for Papaya. It was submitted as EyeForFilm [Amber Wilkinson] and received the same 'declined' response with the same message: Your contribution has been declined. We did not capture a specific reason during processing.

Really appreciate your help.

Hello AmberWilkinson

Thanks for reaching out. After review, we aren't able to accept this external link for inclusion. We appreciate your contribution, but this link doesn't meet our current acceptance requirements.

Is there any other submission number that you would like us to double check for you?

@Fran

Hi Fran

Thanks for your reply. Can you give any more information on why it doesn't meet the acceptance requirements?

So far as I can see we've met your 10 specifications in giving a url for a specific title and using correct case - although, perhaps there's an issue with EyeForFilm? That's how we've styled it historically but more than happy to style it another way if that helps. I haven't used a full stop or any hype as requested.

The only other thing I can think is that perhaps length is an issue with that specific review? In which case, how about 261001-154427-730000 - NAZA - again declined but with no specific reason given.

Thanks, if I could just know why we're not meeting the requirements suddenly, we would, of course, take steps to correct that as long-term contributors to IMDb.

We understand the decision may be disappointing. Our review process includes a variety of factors, including internal trust and safety considerations, and we aren't able to discuss the specifics of individual link evaluations.  If you have another source for the same information, you're welcome to submit it for review.

@Fran It just all seems a bit Orwellian. If we don't know what the issue is, then how are we able to correct it? I'm not sure what safety considerations there might be, for example. We use https and don't host any unorthodox video content or anything like that and only have basic Google analytics tracking. When you say "another source for the same information" can you explain what you mean by that? A different website? Thanks, I'm just trying to get my head around this.

@Fran Thanks again. I understand and - joy! - I think we may have worked out what the issue was and have now hopefully fixed it. Thanks again for taking the time to reply
