Is this really the best way to solve this?

Everything that I'm credited for on this show as Scott Drucker https://www.imdb.com/name/nm14216387/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_1 (Tales from the Territories) should be credited as Scott J Drucker https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3288060/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 . . .it seems to be a lot easier to change a credit when it's your show or film, whereas I kept getting error messages when I was trying to change it myself. They wanted me to change the credit itself.

Also, does anyone actually work at IMDB? Or is it just community run?

Scott: To answer your second question first, yes, there are people who work at IMDb as employees. There is also a "community" of contributors (including me), both regular and infrequent, but we don't have significant influence over the way the website is run.

Regarding correcting the credits, I understand that all the credits on the "Scott Drucker" page at https://www.imdb.com/name/nm14216387/ belong to you, Scott J. Drucker, at https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3288060/. If so, here's how to merge those two pages into one page with your middle initial.

Go to the Scott Drucker page at https://www.imdb.com/name/nm14216387/ and click "Edit page".

On the next screen, on the Name Merge line, select "Add merge". Scroll down and click "Continue".

On the next screen, there will be a blank line on which to enter the corrected name. Enter it as:

Drucker, Scott J.

There will be a box labeled "Preserve previous name on existing credits. i.e. '(as Scott Drucker)'". This is very important. If you were ever credited on "Tales from the Territories" as Scott Drucker with no middle initial, then leave the box checked. But if you were always credited on that show as Scott J. Drucker, then un-check the box.

There will also be an Explanation box. In that box, enter something like this: "I am Scott J. Drucker. Some of my credits have been mistakenly entered under a separate name page as Scott Drucker with no middle initial. All credits on both pages belong to me, and so these pages should be merged into one name page under my primary name, Scott J. Drucker." Click "Check these updates".

On the next screen, you will get one or two warnings, depending on whether or not you checked or unchecked the box.

  • If you unchecked the box, you will get a warning that begins, "By unticking the box to preserve existing credits, you are implying they are incorrect. ..."
  • In either case, you will get a warning that begins, "You are about to merge two separate name pages into one. Are you sure you wish to merge this name page into the page for Drucker, Scott J.? ..."

For each warning that applies, check the box that says, "Warning understood, go ahead anyway." Click "Re-check these updates".

On the next screen, your data should appear with a green background, and you should be able to click "Submit these updates".

Allow a few days for the merge to go through. Good luck!

Since the new page only has credits for that show, it can be done with a name merge, see: https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/names-biographical-data/how-can-i-combine-two-imdb-name-pages/G3TNPWSGKZNRU3MP

What error are you getting and how do you try to change it?

Anyway, I made a merge submission for you, should be approved soon, and that will move the credits to correct page.

Hi @scott_j_drucker -

I can confirm that both pages are now merged.  Cheers!
