Is it possible to delete an episode from a series?

I could have sworn that after a recent redesign—maybe six months to a year ago—we were given the option to delete an episode from a series.

But that option, if it really existed, seems to be gone.

If so, will it be an option again in the future?

The Title Deletion option does still appear on some titles and episodes. Perhaps the issue is how IMDb determines where it should or should not appear.

Hello jay_spirit,

Some titles may not have the delete option as Peter_pbn mentioned, and this happens because they are identified as of general public interest.

I encourage you to take a look at our Title Corrections help guide for more instructions and details about deleting a title/episode.

Thank you for the reply.

I don't understand why some titles are considered to be of public interest and others not. I had assumed that everything on IMDb was of public interest.

I wonder if this is an indirect way of saying some titles are more vulnerable to sabotage because they're controversial.

All the titles I want to delete episodes from happen to be controversial. But that's a coincidence.

The Daily Wire releases episodes of their podcast series, DAILY WIRE BACKSTAGE on the feeds for all the Daily Wire podcasts, including THE BEN SHAPIRO SHOW, THE ANDREW KLAVAN SHOW, THE MICHAEL KNOWLES SHOW, THE MATT WALSH SHOW, and THE CANDACE OWENS SHOW.

A bot is picking up all these duplicate episodes and adding them to each of these series on IMDb, even though the episodes do not belong.

Now, I already know the solution to this. What I have to do is merge the duplicate episodes.

But that is more work than I'm willing to do. I don't enjoy cleaning up messes. That's not why I contribute to IMDb.

I would have been willing to delete the duplicate episodes, but that is not possible.

The staff should be aware these duplicate episodes exist and that it's so tedious to remove them it's unlikely any contributor will be willing to do the work.

Merges and deletions need to be easier, and still invulnerable to corruption.

I know that's not an easy task.
