Is "El Dorado" really from 1966?
I see at https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061619/ that El Dorado, starring John Wayne and Robert Mitchum, is now listed as a 1966 film. Until recently, it was listed as being from 1967. However, there is now a Japanese release date of 17 December 1966 listed.
The film's release pattern as currently shown at https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061619/releaseinfo looks unusual. Is it likely that an American film would have been released in Japan in December, then not released anywhere else -- including the USA -- until nearly six months later, 7 June 1967?
Can anyone -- preferably someone who can access Japanese newspapers from that era -- confirm whether or not El Dorado really was released in Japan on 17 December 1966?

Hey - we're confident this release date is accurate based on the evidence at the point of submission.
If you're able to source any evidence showing that it premiered in Japan in 1967 please submit an update to that release date with the evidence you find.
