India Spotlight

This is a great initiative from IMDb towards popularizing the IMDb in India which we were longing sometimes back. Now it's a reality. I just have some suggestions pertaining to the India Spotlight.

1. As an IMDb contributor I work for the Malayalam film industry, which  might not be a big industry when we compare it with other industries like Bollywood, Tamil and Telugu. But, it's one of the most prominent industry which produced some of the best movies in India. Volume wise, it produce around 130-150 movies annually and a huge audience in India and around the world. Most of the movies get well noticed even in non-Malayalam speaking community because of the quality of the film it produce for ages. I'd like to get our industry noticed like Tamil and Telugu, could you please add a different section 'Trending Malayalam Movies' in IMDb India spotlight?

2. As I've aforementioned, the production companies are not actively contributing data in IMDb at the moment. It's we contributors play a vital role, but the problem is when most of the trailers getting no. 1 trending position in YouTube, we're so helpless that we couldn't provide it on the respective IMDb title page as we don't have the IMDb scorecard/the access to the source file to upload it in IMDb. Since, I started as a contributor, I'm requesting for a change in IMDb policy to add trailers from third party website like YouTube, which helps to provide more page visits right before the release itself. This is one of the major drawbacks that I found in IMDb to get more popularized among the local Indian film industry. I hope you'd definitely consider our requests in near future.

Hi Cinema Management, thank you so much for your kind support. I hope more vote could make a difference in IMDb policy pertaining to the third party videos.

In a digital era like this Trailers plays a crucial role in marketing a movie. Without trailers, a title is so incomplete even if you submit a million useful data to any title.

Right! Trailer plays a crucial role. Even IMDB don't provide video material space but only external link. I am so sorry about it even though the lack of storage this YOUTUBE link can solve it I think.

External links are no useful for the users. A space playing the YouTube video need to be provided as we see in other sites.
