Incorrect death information

Last month a English comedian called Tony Knight died in an accident, and someone (without doing due diligence) added this death info to an American actors page despite the fact their ages, careers, spouse, obituary etc did not match up, they shared a name only.

Now I do not know if this comedian even had an IMDb page but news of his death was tagged with that actor, see here: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0971016/

That actor looks nothing like the comedian and is still alive.

I did the right thing and submitted a deletion with evidence added and it was approved, see here: #240706-223217-240000

It's not even been 12 hours and the false death data, although slightly altered has returned. Can you removed it and block it from being re-added. And maybe remove those incorrect news tags that are helping misidentify the page.

And if anyone reading has any idea if the late Tony Knight has a page, let it come to light because I cannot identify one.

Thanks in advance for any aid.

Hi VonPunk-

Thank you for letting us know about this issue! I have removed the incorrect death date added to this unrelated person Tony Knight and taken further steps to prevent these additions to be added again.

I have also untagged this name page from the news articles that were incorrectly linked as well.

The changes are already live on the site.

Cheers!

I've yet to locate this person on the system, though I'm still looking.

I did, however, stumble across a probable duplicate:

Tony Knight (IV) - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3109032/?ref_=fn_al_nm_9

Sole credit is as himself, a friend of Larry Grayson in "The Unforgettable Larry Grayson".

Tony Knight (XI) - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm15792363/?ref_=fn_al_nm_7

Sole credit is as himself in an episode of Channel 4's "Top Ten", the title of which is "Camp Icons". Which, having googled, did include Larry Grayson.

However, while I can source the first programme, I can't source the second, so I won't submit anything until I can obtain that evidence.

@MovieCat Yes, that seems highly likely to be the same person, shame you can't get hold of both episodes, it's not on Channel 4's streaming service either, maybe archive footage rights did not extend to streaming services.

Thanks for helping look. It does not sound like he ever appeared on TV, at least there's no mention of it anywhere if he has.

@VonPunk From what I've read about him, he was possibly on a few regional, little-seen shows, but "UK shows that no one has ever head of" is quite a big blind spot on this site, and one I usually spend my time filling.

@MovieCat I've noticed, and I appreciate what you do, things of a certain age from UK tend to fall between the cracks and get forgotten, it's great to see as much as possible get databased. I've done a chunk of work on old 90's BBC shows myself, in past and even the better known stuff of the time can have sparse pages, let alone all these blink and you miss type shows that only aired once and were never released again.

Hi @VonPunk -

Is there anything else you need help with?

Thanks!

@Bethanny Just what's in the original post, I delete the incorrect death data and it returns within a day, it needs removing and blocking from being re-added, it relates to someone who likely has no IMDb page, also the news articles need untagging from the page if possible, it's complete mistaken identity. Thank you.
